Williams is one of the largest bars in Uptown. It is multiple levels, with pool tables, free popcorn, and they are the only peanut bar (free) I know of (although you are limited to the basement if you choose to partake in these tasty morsels). Its usually packed later in the week and on the weekends, which makes it a little hard to get a drink, but if you head back to the pool tables, a waitress might be by soon.

They also usually have a beer tub when you walk in. Music is usually top 40 and more mainstream. During the summer they have a small outdoor patio along the sidewalk great for people watching. The crowd is usually well-hipply dressed and 22-28 years old. For any night, Williams is a safe bet because they are almost always packed and one of the best spots to play pool in uptown.

I live in uptown and I'm sick of brats from the burbs ruining the bars. Its so bad I can only stomach going during the week when real people are there.

Owner is a d bag and it takes 10 minutes to get a beer. They need to work on a few things and they could become better.

With the place not busy at all, sat down (after speaking with the bartender) and didn't get served for almost 10 minutes. Guess they don't need my business anymore. Went around the corner to Old Chicago... had my beer in 5. I'll give it a 2 because I've had moderate experiences there in the past.

Uptown Shyna... get a life. I am from Edina, graduated from Saint Thomas, live in Uptown and can recognize what they are saying. It's people like you who think everybody is jealous of them that makes places like Williams filled with people like you SUCK! Why don't you go to BLB and see how many people are jealous of you?! LOL.

Williams's reputation as halfway between a frat bar and a yuppie hangout belies its fantastic beer list, which puts more than a few ritzier uptown establishments to shame. The prices aren't great but $3 US beers on Wednesday can't be beat. It's a fantastic deal, but you can probably ignore Williams for the rest of the week and not lose any sleep over it.
