moto-i is in the tradition of the "Izakaya" which is Japanese for a speakeasy or pub serving home brewed sake and small plates of traditional street cuisine; an extensive list of noodles and rice dishes ($6-12). The menu is especially notable for their Tokyo style straight noodle ramen and their house made steamed buns. The interior is dark, candle lit with an urban feel highlighted by a long stainless steel bar and flat-screens set to Japanese news, game shows and sumo wrestling. Large wooden, yet comfortable booths line the back room, but still give patrons direct bar access. Their house-brewed American sake is served on tap along with 12 Minnesota local breweries. moto-i also has a table shuffle board and hosts a fantasy sumo league every odd month!
