Conveniently located in downtown St. Paul just 1 1/2 blocks west of the Xcel Energy Center on West 7th Street, the Downtowner Woodfire Grill meats and vegetables are prepared over an oak-wood burning grill, following ancient Persian cooking traditions. The oak wood imbues the food with a mouth-watering subtle smoke that enhances the flavor of everything from savory boneless leg of lamb to center cut swordfish and sirloin steaks. Working in concert with the grill is their oak-wood burning oven, or tannur. Burning at a 500 degree temperature, the oven cooks their homemade pizzas and flat-bread to perfection and makes their artichoke dip an award winning dish (American Dairy Association).
Thanks to the visible kitchen, guests are able to see the cooking process as their meals are fire roasted or oven baked to their satisfaction. The menu is considered American Bistro with a Persian touch.
